Social Issue Background:
Plastic pollution is a global environmental crisis stemming from the widespread production and disposal of single-use plastics. It poses significant threats to ecosystems, wildlife, and human health. Countries worldwide struggle with inadequate waste management systems, leading to plastic waste accumulating in landfills, waterways, and oceans. The impacts of plastic pollution include habitat destruction, marine ecosystem disruption, and adverse health effects on both wildlife and humans.
Scope of the Issue:
Plastic pollution affects countries worldwide, with several identified as major contributors to the problem. Vulnerable communities, particularly those in low-income areas, bear the brunt of its impacts, facing environmental degradation and health risks. Addressing plastic pollution requires comprehensive strategies, including policy interventions, waste management improvements, recycling initiatives, and public awareness campaigns.

Our Mission
Our Story
We've chosen to address plastic pollution, considering its impact on wildlife and our future generations. The enormity of the issue is evident in the 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic waste in our oceans, with 269,000 tons floating and 4 billion microfibers per km² below the surface. 70% of debris sinks into the ocean's ecosystem, 15% floats, and 15% lands on beaches annually, adding up to 8.3 million tons of plastic discarded yearly. Ocean pollution severely affects marine life, causing physical injuries, health problems, and population declines. We aim to mitigate these effects by collecting ocean plastic and transforming it into road construction materials. Our Location based in Melbourne, Victoria, we assist businesses in transitioning to sustainable practices, helping to reduce plastic waste entering oceans, clean water, and support marine life while building resilient roadways.
